The smoke sauna is a good example of our ancient sauna traditions. It gives sauna enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy the same sauna pleasures as our ancestors did. After sauna experience you can stay overnight at Karupahna Holiday Home or at the Granary House. Of course, we also offer catering and in our menu, in addition to the more usual dishes, we offer a diverse selection of dishes made from the venison and moose. Various delicious game dishes are the undisputed favorites of our guests. Of course, we also serve snacks to the saunas.

Sauna ritual at Smoke sauna!

Enjoying a smoke sauna is much more than just relaxation – it’s a step back to the time when our ancestors experienced a sauna session as a deeply personal and spiritual experience. A  smoke sauna is a unique experience that connects you with nature, history and your soul. During the ritual, we pamper the senses with the soft touch of aromatic sauna towels, nourish the skin with moisturizing honey and treat ourselves to soothing herbal tea, creating a pleasurable and relaxing experience at the same time.

In a smoke sauna, you can experience the joy of sauna as our ancestors experienced it. During a visit to the sauna, you merge with nature, traditions and the soul. The smoke sauna experience is ideal for 3-6 people at the same time (duration ~ 2-3h), in case of a larger crowd, the time of the sauna experience will be longer.

Smoke Sauna at Toosikannu

The authentic smoke sauna of Toosikannu Holiday Center is located in a private end of a lake and this is a great place to discuss ideas or improve the world in a small group.

The sauna has enough space for 15 people and up to 8 people can sit on the terrace in the front of it. For enthusiasts of winter swimming, there is an open ice hole during the winter.

There is a small swimming pier on the lake in front of the sauna – you can use it to dive into the cooling lake. Dry toilet is outside of the sauna. We heat the sauna according to the customer’s request, the heating of the sauna by the customer is not allowed even afterwards. There is no chimney at smoke sauna and warming it takes several hours.

Estonian Smoke Sauna from South-East of Estonia is added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Saunas in Estonia have long traditions and are integral part of our culture!

Saunas are an integral part of our culture and with us it is possible to enjoy sauna experiences in several different saunas. It is especially healthy and useful to enjoy sauna after a hike or combined with some other activity.

What activities you can enjoy at Toosikannu?

Here you can enjoy wildlife watching safari tours by the Soviet vintage vehicles like 25-seat bus PAZ, vintage truck GAZ66 or modern UTV with five seats. Tours should be preordered and are guided and you will hear interesting stories about our wildlife park. We also arrange different activities on the territory and around: ATV tours, and snowmobile trips during snowy wintertime.  You can pre-order testing your accuracy of your team at shooting range, or in archery(from spring to autumn). In addition, our partners are happy to arrange different adventure and team-building games.
